Range Rules

INDOOR PISTOL RANGE RULES

1.  OBEY THE 10 RANGE COMMANDMENTS LISTED BELOW.  Failure to obey these commands could result in removal from the range, and possibly forfeiture of future shooting privileges.

2.  ENTER THE RANGE BY OPENING ONLY ONE DOOR AT A TIME.  Failure to do so will cause hearing damage to those within the lobby and redirect our clean air supply.  We do not take this rule lightly.  You will be removed from the range without refund.

3.  EAR AND EYE PROTECTION MUST BE EQUIPPED PRIOR TO ENTERING THE FIRST DOOR TO THE RANGE.  This is a continuous live fire range with users firing at their own pace.  Users must be protected before they enter and until they pass back into the lobby.  We recommend that you use our “ANSI” approved personal protective gear, however you may at your own risk bring your own.  1776 IPR users must wear hearing protection that can communicate with our Range Officer (RO).  Hearing protection must be fit tight to the skin with minimal hair intrusion to prevent hearing damage.

4.  FIREARMS MUST BE CASED UNTIL YOU REACH THE FIRING LINE OR AT THE SALES COUNTER.  We respect your right to conceal or open carry, however if your weapon is pulled anywhere except these 2 locations, then we may assume that you are a threat.  THERE WILL NOT BE WEAPONS THAT ARE LOADED AND UNHOLSTERED ANYWHERE EXCEPT THE FIRING LINE!!!!!

5.  DO NOT CHANGE LANES WITH FIREARMS.  This breaks commandments #4 and #5.  Either unload and re-case the firearm to bring it behind the firing line, or leave the firearm unloaded on the shooting bench with the action open and the magazine out in order to switch users.  UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO LOADED AND UNCASED FIREARMS GO BEHIND THE FIRING LINE!!!!!

6.  DO NOT POLICE BRASS WHILE ON THE RANGE.  Due to insurance/safety purposes we cannot have people crawling around on the range while others are standing with a loaded weapon or shooting a weapon.

7.  FACTORY AMMUNITION ONLY.  Due to insurance/safety purposes, use of reloaded ammunition is strictly forbidden.  All ammunition is subject to inspection.  Any ammunition designed for penetrating metal is not permitted.  Likewise, all tracer, incendiary, armor piercing, gas or explosive tip ammunition is forbidden.  No exposed lead bullets are permitted.  Ammunition must be FMJ (full metal jacket) or jacketed hollow point.

8.  PISTOLS ONLY.  No shotguns, black powder, or pistols chambered for center fire rifle cartridges that exceed 3000fps.  Fully automatic pistol firearms are at the discretion of the Range Officer and proper paperwork must be presented in advance.

9.  VANDALISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.  Any person seen firing at lights, baffles, carriers, walls, ceilings, floors, or any fixtures will be held responsible for repairs and the reasonable fees incurred to repair the damage.  Only shoot targets authorized by the Range Officer and at the appropriate distance for that target.  Head shots may only be taken when the target is behind the “head shot” line.

10.  You must be at least 48” tall to participate.  Participants between 48”-60” will be given a target extension in order to keep bullets from damaging the ceiling.  Participants 60” and up are not allowed to shoot at targets with extensions on them in order to prevent bullet damage to the floor.  Participants may only shoot at targets within their lane to prevent damage to the walls of the range.  Participants that do not follow these rules will be held responsible for damages to the range.

11.  ALL PERSONS USING THE FACILITIES SHALL BE OF GOOD CHARACTER.  1776 is a family oriented facility and has the right to refuse service to anyone.  Vulgar language, obscene gestures, unpatriotic comments and the like will not be tolerated, especially in the presence of children learning to make use of their God given right to bear arms that so many patriots have paid the ultimate price for all of us to keep.

12.  APPROPRIATE DRESS IS MANDITORY.  No open toe shoes.  We need our participants to use common sense here.  If there is an open crack or crevice of exposed skin on your person, a piece of hot brass will inevitably find its way there and you may end up “branded” with a shell casing that may not even be your own.  We recommend long pants and sleeves, but it is ultimately your responsibility to protect yourself.  We have the right to refuse service if the Range Officer deems your attire unsafe.

13.  WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR EQUIPMENT OR OTHER PERSONAL ITEMS.  Items left unattended or missing are not our responsibility.  We will do our best to help you locate them.  Items that you use of ours are your responsibility.  Damage to firearms, safety glasses, ear protection, ect will be billed directly to you.

14.  AGE AND FACILITY USAGE.  Individuals 18yrs and older may use our facility, however you must be 21yrs old or older to rent firearms.  Minors may use our facility under the direct supervision of a parent/legal guardian.  If a minor wishes to use this facility under the direct supervision of someone other than a parent/legal guardian, then the legal guardian and the responsible adult must come together in person with proof of ID to sign here to relinquish responsibility to the adult that is not the legal guardian.

15.  FIREARM RENTAL POLICY.  Anyone wanting to participate in renting a firearm must be at least 21yrs old and show proof of ID. We only allow the use ammunition purchased within 1776 IPR to be fired through our firearms.  All range rules apply at all times.  Violation of rules may void your rental without refund.

16.  DAMAGES TO THE FACILITY, PROPERTY, FIREARMS, OR GEAR.  We reserve the right to bill you reasonable charges for damage to our facility, property, firearms, or gear.  Outright refusal to pay the bill will result in going to court as necessary to retrieve repayment for the damaged property. The losing party in court will also be responsible for court costs and attorney fees.
